I've worked virtually my entire career -- except for right now. You do have to manage your day carefully to ensure that you don't work too much. However, when done correctly, VO working is the best. If I am doing work from home and don't do something to actively "switch modes" from when I wake up, I find myself more prone to getting distracted. Unless it's the weekend, I start out each day as though I'm headed into the office. Get dressed, eat breakfast, etc., almost to the point where I'm going to head out the door. Then, if I'm staying home, I stay home and am ready to focus on what I need to do. I definitely agree with #2 & #3.
